Capricornia Cue Sports Incorporated conducts competitions in and around the Rockhampton region in the sport of 8 ball under the World Rules as adopted by the World Eightball Pool Federation [WEPF].
We formed from the Rockhampton 8 Ball Association Inc. which had operated since the mid to late 70’s and incorporated under the Capricornia Cue Sports banner in 2014 to reflect the fact that we accommodate teams and venues from many localities within Capricornia and not just Rockhampton and to open the possibility of playing some other disciplines such as snooker or 9-ball.
We have members who are new to the game and those who have represented at zone, state, national and even international level and we encourage participation by players of all skill levels and facilitate this by means of grading teams on their ability and level of competitiveness.
We are currently playing A & B grade on Wednesday and C grade on Thursday nights, predominantly from our clubhouse at 244 Denison St but also at some hotels and clubs.
The competition is based on a minimum 4 players per team and conducted over 2 rounds of play where each team will play each other twice, once at their ‘Home’ venue and once at their opponents’ ‘Home’ venue. These competitions are played twice each year with the first season beginning in late January to early February and the second season beginning in July usually.
We also run various social competitions throughout the year, mostly on weekends, which are open to anyone who enjoys the game. If you are a social player you may want to play in these competitions or just come down for a visit and hire a table. If you are more competitive you may wish to join one of our league teams or put in a team of your own. The choice is yours and the opportunities are limited only by your personal skill and commitment.
